App and Apple Health
With your permission, Underbark reads relevant Apple Health data. Apple calls the framework used for this access HealthKit. The app uses the categories you allow to calculate Sleep and Recovery Scores and show Activity. Optional blood-oxygen, breathing-disturbance, and temperature information adds context and does not change a score.
Scores are calculated on your iPhone. Underbark stores its scores, check-ins, preferences, schedules, and notification state in app-owned storage. A compact score summary can be shared with the Underbark app on a paired Apple Watch. The optional online paths described below use different, limited information.
Underbark prepares an export when you ask. You choose its destination through Apple sharing controls. The destination then controls the copied file.
Website
Vercel hosts this website and provides Vercel Web Analytics in production. The analytics service receives page views for the public pages on this site. Before an app-authored page view is sent, the site removes query parameters and URL fragments and rejects custom events and unlisted paths.
A page view can include the time, clean page path, approximate area, referring page when the browser supplies it, browser, operating system, device category, and analytics script version. Vercel creates a request-derived visitor code for a session and discards that session after 24 hours. The current reporting window available to authorized project members is 12 months. Vercel says it may retain analytics data beyond that reporting window.
Vercel and network providers can also process ordinary request and hosting details, including an IP address, page, device details, and time, to deliver and protect the site.
If you allow Google Analytics, it measures visits, scrolling, outbound link clicks and file-download links using visitor and session cookies. Measurements include public page information, link or file details, browser and device information, and approximate location. Google and network providers also process connection information.
Your analytics choice is saved for 180 days. Google Analytics cookies are configured with a 180-day lifetime; its session cookie can refresh during activity. You can change your choice through Privacy choices. After you withdraw and your choice is saved, the page reloads without Google Analytics. Withdrawal does not erase information already collected.
Website error reporting uses Sentry independently of your Google Analytics choice. Reports contain a generic error description, website code locations, page identifier, software version, time and an error identifier. They may include browser and operating-system names. Sentry and network providers can also process connection information. This website reporting does not use session replay, performance tracing or logs.
The Google Analytics choice does not turn off the Vercel page measurements or website error reporting described here.
Optional account and purchases
An Underbark account is optional. If you sign in, Underbark and Supabase store a Sign in with Apple account identifier and eligible account-linked Plus access. Apple manages App Store purchases, subscription settings, and Restore Purchases. Restore Purchases does not require an Underbark account.
In-app account deletion requests deletion of the Underbark account and its linked records. It does not cancel an Apple subscription or delete Apple Health data, local scores, local check-ins, or exported files. We do not claim that this action revokes the Sign in with Apple authorization.
Feedback and enjoyment ratings
Feedback sends the category you select, the message you write, an app-generated per-install report identifier, the app version and build, and the iOS version. An enjoyment rating sends the selected rating with the same technical fields. Supabase processes these submissions for feedback, product improvement, rate limiting, and triage. An Underbark account is not required.
Free text is sent as written. Do not include health information or other sensitive information.
Optional app diagnostics
Share Diagnostics is off until you enable it. When enabled, the app can send Sentry crash and error details, bounded app and device context, time, and a closed set of Underbark error codes so we can investigate reliability problems. The app does not set an Underbark account identifier on a report.
Turning sharing off stops new capture. A report already queued while sharing was on can still finish sending. Sentry can process request and service metadata under its own infrastructure and current project settings. Underbark does not publish a fixed IP, location, retention, or deletion promise for Sentry reports here.
Controls and backup
- Change Apple Health and notification access in Apple settings.
- Turn Share Diagnostics on or off in Underbark Settings.
- Delete individual check-ins in the app.
- Export supported Underbark records before replacing or erasing an iPhone.
- Request account deletion in Underbark Settings.
- Delete shared export copies from each destination that received them.
Apple controls iCloud, device backup, and restore outcomes. The app cannot guarantee that a backup includes or excludes a record. Export important Underbark records before replacing or erasing an iPhone.
Service providers
- Apple provides Apple Health, Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, device sharing, backup, and TestFlight services.
- Supabase provides the optional account and feedback services.
- Sentry provides optional app diagnostics and separate production website error reporting.
